WHAT?

A Finnish baseball match produced exclusively in English @ Meilahti Finnish Baseball field, Helsinki, streamed online on Ruutu+ and our YouTube channel in collaboration with Sanoma and a day full of events in Meilahti starting at 10:30 with free practice sessions of Finnish baseball, baseball5 and cricket. HOW do I see the game?

​

We want to make Finnish baseball accessible to everyone so we have three options for you:

 

1.  (Recommended) See the game live in Helsinki @ Meilahti Finnish Baseball Field with English commentary (see ticket options below).       The game starts at 14:00 but we strongly recommend to come at least 30 min before so you’re not stuck in the queue.

2.  Watch live online on Ruutu+ video streaming service.

3.  Watch live online on YouTube livestream on the Puna-Mustat YouTube channel (only available outside of Finland - we recommend to        subscribe now to stay tuned with pre-game content).

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

 

Puna-Mustat is a progressive Finnish baseball club and we want to make our national sport accessible to everyone, including international audiences. Lately Finnish baseball related content has picked up massive interest on social media with people across the globe craving to know more about the sport. 

 

With streaming our game on Ruutu+ we want to give an opportunity for Finnish baseball fans in Finland to experience the game in English and have an opportunity to follow our club. We are obviously lucky and grateful for the partnership with Sanoma, which allows us to build a high quality experience.

 

With YouTube livestreaming we want to give the opportunity for global audiences to experience Finnish baseball live from where they are. With having the recording of the game on YouTube we believe we can build an experience that is remembered for long. 

 

With the English production of the game on the Meilahti Finnish Baseball Field we want to give an opportunity for English speaking inhabitants and immigrants to experience our national sport in their language. Obviously we want to raise the awareness of the sport in this audience and potentially attract new players, partners, volunteers and members to the club.

We believe Finnish baseball is core to our national identity and we want to strengthen the tie.

 

Finally, with the English game, we want to do good service for the sport we love.

We will be publishing content on our social media channels on a daily basis ahead of the match on 4th of August to allow you to learn more about the sport, our club, the players and more. Agenda & timing for the day

 

For those in Helsinki: join us in the morning for an easygoing practice session of Finnish baseball, cricket or baseball. Or just join us for the game. You choose, we’re there for you and our restaurant / kiosk is open to serve food & beverages from 10:00 until an hour after the game.

 

10:30-12:30 Free practice session on Finnish baseball, baseball and cricket

Test out Finnish baseball, cricket or baseball (played with baseball 5 concept) at our free practice session produced in collaboration with the Finnish Cricket Association and Finnish Baseball Association. All age groups are welcome and no skills needed. English speaking coaches and gear for all three sports available.
